AUMANS, the law-firm
Jérôme Deroulez and Jean-Charles Foussat combine their expertise and teams within AUMANS, a new business law firm.
AUMANS is an independent boutique, organized around two strong and complementary specializations, distribution law and personal data law. With their common points and their common threads in a context of digitalization and use of new technologies.
The team has the same ambition in the strategic support of its clients, both in consulting, negotiation and litigation.
The partners' view
According to Jean-Charles Foussat, “we have always made sure to adapt our service offering to the evolution of our clients’ practices, particularly due to new technologies. The merger with Jérôme, a recognized specialist in the field of personal data, via AUMANS allows us to pool our energies and resources even more, to further support our clients in the digital transformation of their activities and their compliance (GDPR, TRACFIN, etc.).
For Jérôme Deroulez, “our two firms have been working together for a long time. Personal data law permeates all economic activities and more particularly distribution law or real estate transactions, on which Jean-Charles is particularly involved. We therefore have many synergies, in terms of compliance or IT contracts. The merger with Jean-Charles will also allow us to support our clients in their commercial disputes. But it is above all the desire to carry out a joint project, to offer new forms of strategic support that underpinned the creation of AUMANS”.
Why AUMANS?
This name chosen by the team is a reference echoing Aumance and the environmental projects pursued by the partners. It is also a way of describing the law-firm through other horizons.

Jean-Charles Foussat
Lawyer
Jean-Charles FOUSSAT, founding partner, admitted to the Paris (1997) and Brussels (2011) Bar.
“Coming from a family of commercial agents, I was aware of importance of business at a young age. Getting involved in this, especially in commercial agency law, seemed only natural when I was founding the firm. Meanwhile, we have closely followed the development of legislation applicable to commercial agents in the property field. However, the ways of distributing products have considerably evolved over the last 20 years (development of on-line sales, revival of door-to-door sales, networks of principals, etc.).
Indeed, committed to assisting our clients in their long-term development, we have developed our expertise in these different, complementary, legal areas”.
Jean-Charles FOUSSAT founded the firm in 2003 after having worked at GIDE (in Moscow, then Paris) and DEPREZ GUIGNOT where he specialised in business law, company law, mergers and acquisitions and other commerrcial matters. In 2023, with Jérôme DEROULEZ, he created AUMANS AVOCATS resulting from the merger of their two structures.
Jean-Charles studied at Sciences Po Paris (1991) and then at the law faculty of la Sorbonne-Paris I (1994)
Jérôme DEROULEZ, admitted to the Paris (2015) and Brussels (2017) bar, former student of the National School for the Judiciary.
“My professional experience has enabled me to develop a recognised expertise in two areas of practice : criminal law and criminal procedure on the one hand, and data protection in France and Europe, on the other.
AUMANS was born from numerous supports carried out jointly by our teams and from our desire to develop new offers.
Negotiating and proposing effective strategies to our clients is part of our DNA, due to our experiences and our conception of advice and defense.”
Jérôme DEROULEZ participated for several years in European and international negotiations in Brussels before creating his firm in 2015.
Specializing in personal data protection and new technology law, he joined forces with the FOUSSAT firm to create AUMANS AVOCATS and implement new synergies.
